I wanted to revisit some of the subjects that I failed at capturing when I switched to Procreate on the iPad, including this one from Aftyn‘s Fall cloths haul. This time, I went with the cartoon rendering style, which felt like the right choice for the “roundness” of the pose. I got a little abstract with the shadows and highlights, refining them down far enough that you wouldn’t really recognize them from the reference image. I think it works better than more representational lighting.
