That Pink kitten painting went well enough that I was emboldened to try and do a painting with translucency. I’m still making progress with converting reference images to sketches, and to painting with those sketches. Edge lines aren’t nearly as bad these days. My color blending with Procreate has improved substantially, although I saw another Haze Long video today that gave me a glimpse of skills I’m still well short of.
I’m pretty happy with the quality of this painting. The colors look right, details mostly accurate. The dress does, in fact, read as translucent. It’s a damned sexy pose, and it was exciting to try to capture it.
