Can you believe we’re already up to the eighth set of these? So many wonderful boobs on so many incredible women. I just want to say again to the ladies, thank you for being so incredible and so open.
I think this is probably my best set of the series to date. I’m particularly captivated by the one in the upper left, which probably shows in the amount of detail I used. Many of these poses were distinct challenges to my dedication to building the figures from the rib cage outward. There were lots of funky perspectives to challenge my shabby brain. But I kept it up, and I think these figures all look weighted and grounded in a way that I have often failed at. Folds in fabric continue to challenge my shading — the sweater on the bottom left is downright poor. But some of these feature the best monochrome shading I’ve done.
So if you ask me whether the set has been worth doing, I’ll say an unequivocal yes. I am making progress as a figure artist. I couldn’t be happier.
Two more sets to go, and then I return to boring old book studies. But perhaps I’ll sneak a portrait in between.
