Another sheet full of glorious ladies, back in the basic sketch style. I feel like I’m improving at the construction aspect of these. Each drawing starts with an anatomical anchor point, either the rib cage or clavicles, and builds outward from there. It’s the mechanism you use in learning to develop the skill to draw figures from imagination. It’s not uncommon for me to mess up some of the anatomy and have to correct things — I think my rib cages are often too short — but what I’m not doing is falling back to outline sketching. On one, my initial effort was awful and I needed to go further back, a stick figure, to get the angles and lengths worked out, but I don’t think that’s out of bounds.
That lady in the upper right with her hip facing us? That was not easy! There were a lot of hands in this set. Some are better than others, but I’m glad I didn’t chintz out of them. Overall: pleased with the work.
