Charcoal portrait of Aftyn done in Procreate on the iPad. The colors on that satin robe were quite the challenge. I’m pretty pleased with this one. Much better than last week’s effort. I did 3 sketch layers for this one, which is unusual for me. It just took a long time to come together. I’m still distorting things in my freehand sketches. Fortunately, I chose a canvas size with the same aspect ratio as the reference, so I could line up with the original and measure out where I was going wrong. In the process video, you’ll see that when things start hopping around with the move tools.
I’m afraid I haven’t been practicing much this week. I tend to be a little single-track in my attentions, and right now Metroid Dread has its grip on me.
