I’m about to go on vacation and it’s unlikely I’ll be able to post for a while. I’d like to share a few things I’ve been working on. Just some toys, sketches, updates, works in progress.
I got some great critique from a friend online about my Linne Woods piece. He challenged me to vary up the use of color some, involving the sky color more in the rest of the work, and to cut down on the grassy field in the front to keep it from being a focal point. I produced this update and I’m even happier with it.
This is just a silly thing I did while listening to a presentation over Zoom at work. The speaker has a rooster that would just not shut up…
Some shading tests on cylinders. I have been struggling with ink shading technique for a long time and I figured it was time to put some focus on it. I’m rather fond of how C looks. G and H don’t look shaded, but they do look textured. Slowing down in my line making is helping my confidence some.
That’s based on an old photo of Betty Page. I have been having a pile of trouble shading it! I’ll come back to it, but I think it’s time to put it aside for now.
