Kenzo

Monochrome painting of Kenzo Fry

I had a day with hours and hours of drawing for lessons, and I felt the need to blow off some steam. I drew a quick portrait of the Love Life Drawing instructor, Kenzo Fry. It’s not a bad likeness, although it does look a little distorted. If I wanted to spend more time on it, I’d probably beef up the chin a bit, soften that line under his right eye, shore up the hairline a bit, and fix the perspective on the bottom edge of his little microphone box. But for a fast thing at the end of a long night of drawing, I’m pleased with this.

I’ve been stressing a little about keeping up the posting schedule on this website. I’ve been trying to post more finished looking pieces once a week on Saturdays. I have a bit of a backlog. You may have noticed that the dates in the signatures don’t match when the posts go up. But that has kept me from starting up some more focused learning opportunities. I have a number of books sitting on the todo pile as well as an online figure drawing study I wanted to start. So I’m going to switch focus more to learning. If I have something presentable, like this Kenzo drawing, I’ll post that, but I’m not going to beat myself up if I don’t keep to the schedule.
