Einstein

Monochrome portrait of Albert Einstein. He is looking downward, probably at a book

For my second piece made in Artstudio Pro, I decided to return to my series of celebrity portraits. This is famed scientist Albert Einstein.

I didn’t intend this to be done in monochrome. In the tool, it’s not, actually. I did the same kind of color filter trick I did with the Color notes piece, but when I looked at the color version, found it lacking. I’ll be honest, I think too much of it was gray, which is a product of using the color picker in that app. I think in Procreate when I used the color picker, it would select the color from the active layer, which has colors, and not the top of the canvas, which has the filter applied. That may be an option in Artstudio, but I don’t know how to control it well enough yet. In any case, I wound up with a colorful sweatshirt and a boring white/gray face, which stole focus from where I thought it should go. So you get the filtered version instead.
